I'm very lucky that I don't feel the need to look half my age and therefore have a daily struggle with self image.
My Grandmother used to say that we will all look rather like a toad or a lizard as we age, and from the look of my neck I am well on the way to the latter !

I spent my whole younger life believing I was unattractive. Looking at pictures, I can now see I was cute as a bug! So I've learned to feel attractive for myself, and the hell with everybody else. I love your portrait because it's YOU, and it conveys your personality to me. A wonderful image! :)

I've heard of and seen Batman, but Batwoman? COOL! So, who has a wrinkled neck? Bats do, since they hang upside down. Thanks for the self portrait. Always nice to see the people behind the avatars and images. Keep up the good work! :-)

I look terrible with a any kind of hat on my head-- I truly envy those of you that look so nice-- I have always told my sis she could wear a pile of bird dodo on her head and still look good. Smiles.

whenever anyone writes a description like this, people will say you don't look anything like a 'toad' and you look great, etc; but the thing is, it's real, because you have great character and depth in your face, and a beauty that is as real as real and deep as it gets, which I'm not saying to be 'nice', because I've always felt it. (Though, believe me, the idiot-comic in me would like, just once, to respond to uploads like this with, "oh yeah, you look awful...I may puke..." But as you can see, that's tasteless, just tasteless.) When this went up, I wanted to say what Helle once said: You have great dignity, beauty and strength in your face. And those lines are signs of having lived to the fullest, inwardly and outwardly. I love your self portraits, they're honest to the core: You show yourself honestly. (Mine are all posed smiles, you do away with all that.) Terrific portrait, Andrea. I agree with the above.
