Arches in the church. Arches in the jail. There's a certain parallel I guess. Both places where one would do penance. Wonderful play of light and shadow.

It was probably better than getting shot at. Still doesn't look comfortable though... no cable?

This sure communicates the somber feel of being held here as a prisoner. A great capture, Tara. The exposure is so perfect!

Cathedral arches for saints...these arches for sinners:)...or in this case POWs/people out of favor with the Federal government. The light here is fabulous. Just what I would expect from an old time jail/prison. Great atmosphere.

I'm just back for a few, tara, but I'll catch up with the others in the coming days and weeks. This is one of your signature light-shadow shots, and it's wonderfully bathed in deep blacks, with very bright lights coming through in the background. From the shots you've posted of these, the whites seem like someone smeared chalk or limestone all over the brick---it seems so fresh in these shots. A beautiful capture and working of light and dark and textures, turning a prison area into a deep mysterious cavern. Beautifully done.

(When bill wrote "just what I would expect from an old time jail/prison," I was expecting him to say, "just what I would expect from an old time prisoner..." like you'd done time, and hadn't told us!)
