No longer would the sighting of galleys of a rival spell death and destruction for the fishermen, herders, farmers, hunters, millers and axemen of the Thousand Isles. Warfare did continue, but on another level. War was no longer the first resort of a disgruntled or an affronted lord, but the last resort, and much less bloody for that. For a few decades this new Agreement would herald a new era of co-operation, discovery and advances in technology which would bind the Auld Folk together, and, in time, save them from the ravages of the Breinne Kingdom to the south.
