they appear to be hollow-point bullets, similar to what the killer used at v-tech (worst U.S. massacre of civilians since Wounded Knee). good work. they might be .357-calibre rounds, for the "desert eagle".

Thanks for the comment! I'm not that much of an arms expert, but i had a .38 specials many years ago. I did not have any reference bullet, so i modeled the .38 special hollow-point bullet from my memory - thus they may not be physically correct. I had originally made these for a picture with hundreds of bullets rowed up like soldiers, but the rendering time is killing me due to the high reflective materials. Vue estimated around 6 weeks for the render in final quality, 1024*768. Currently experimenting with an ecosystem which is cutting down rendering time, but yet i dont get them alligned as i want.

A kid came to grade school once with his pockets full of live .22 shorts. He was handing them out on the playground. They were legal explosives packaged for safe use in a gun. I saw the danger but did not warn him not to throw them rim down onto the sidewalk. He was throwing some on the ground. He dropped some randomly. I had put caps in a toy bomb with stabilizing fins that made a bang when you threw it at a hard surface. The principal's son had had the toy bomb at home in the neighborhood. Later folks warning about acetylene tanks flying around if the valves were knocked off reminded me of the .22 rounds.

really beautiful textures here! I can understand why it would take so long to render:)!
