Great shot of the old truck. I am impressed also with the flat area...I remember Jerome as being built on the side of the mountain with not a lot of large flat areas to be found. In my mind I always see the homes built on stilts because of the steep mountain grades. Thanks for sharing your impressions.
Nice shot, Bill. I sure remember these pick-up trucks! You got not only the inside but also part of the outside in the mirror reflection. They had good size mirrors. Glad to see all the glass on this one is intact and the chrome on the spot light is still well polished, suggesting someone still cares and that it may still be in running order. Oh, and the back window is reflecting the back part of the truck. Amazing how much you've succeeded in catching in this one photo. And it looks like there's some activity off in the background, too. This is an excellent photo (should give you a first prize in any photo contest)! Keep up the good work! :-)
Do people who live in Jerome AZ long enough call it "Jerry"? (Or "Hey, Jer"?) Ok, dumb question. To the shot: Wonderful light and metallic and glass sheen in this. Almost an abstract. You have a great eye for these old truck shots---everyone you've done has sung with poetry and even operatic power. You get at their many different languages and expressions. I love how it's half in darkness---the right side---and half in light---the left side---and the center is that big chunk of the front of the truck with its windows. Your angle gives it so much music and complexity. And the center section just feels triumphant. Plus, the reflections give another whole element to the shot, giving depth where there isn't any (objectively) and a lot of play of light and shade. And you got a little glimpse of the world behind the truck---reflected in one of its front lights: Completion! A wonderful jazzy motion-filled shot, showing that these old beasts have a lot of life in them, and a lot of positive energy too. I love this shot.
