Description
This photo looks across King Edward's Bay to the headland at Tynemouth. Tynemouth coastguard (which closed in September 2001) is perched on the cliff top next to the ancient Tynemouth priory and castle. This is an English Heritage property, founded in 1090, which commands the northern approaches to the River Tyne.
I took the photo yesterday, on Bank Holiday Monday. As you can see not many people braved the wind which whips along the north-east coastline!

Love the cloud formation and the reflection in the pools on the sand! The people appear to be so tiny, this must be an imposing bay! Great atmosphere!

There is some great scenery in the North East. I miss it a lot. I stayed in Whitley Bay just around the corner. Bit nippy in Winter though! Lovely shot :-)
