Description

With the last of the four airlocks now fitted to the outer hull of the MMS-1 Endeavour will slowly convey the huge spacecraft back to a docking on NASA’s orbiting Von Braun Space Platform. In the weeks that follow astronauts, engineers and technicians will slowly check out the many thousands of systems and sub-systems which make up the massive space vehicle. Whilst additional support sections do still need to be conveyed into space and linked to the massive construct as far as Robert Carter is concerned primary construction of the spacecraft is now fully completed. On the ground far below NASA is already making plans for the next phase in its overall plan for taking America back into space. In the months which follow NASA will slowly lift into space the elements of a second great spacecraft, the MMS-2, which once fully assembled will find its place in space docked not far from the Von Braun Space Platform. Whilst NASA continues with its overall design, on the far side of the world, yet another space faring nation is in the final stages of its plans for its next journey into space.
