Well, I woke up and didn't feel like working on my big projects, so I decided to try an experiment. I'm calling it finished, (even though its not at all good) because I don't want to spend any more time on it. In the years just after I finished uni, there was a superb British comic called 2000AD, which had an uncanny ability to pick people who went on to become industry greats, it was where Judge Dredd originated. One strip was by Alan Moore, who created Abelard Snazz, the man with two brains. (He's a genius, you know!). There was something hugely disturbing as well as amusing about the two pairs of eyes... (He was also known as the double-decker dome) My initial plan was to export poses of the "Thomas" character to poses from Daz and combine them in Lightwave - but for some reason when I pasted the second into another layer of the same object, the surface maps all got dropped. So I just used two copies with the same expression, having no idea if it would work out. Combining the geometry properly soon proved to be a much bigger task than I anticipated, even before thinking about blending the textures smoothly, so in the end I pretty much just overlaid the upper copy on the lower, pushed back the lower forehead so the upper eyes showed, and cut away bits that stuck through I didn't want to see. I took the render that came out into photoshop elements, then cleaned up, 90% of which was running the heal bush over the many rough joins, with a little bit of clone where that didn't work.
