Description

I've had several questions about my technique & have attempted to show a little something several times, but failed to complete the task. This image is a brief summary of what I use and how I go about the task of creating a color illustration. Software: Poser Vue Adobe Photoshop CS5 Images 1-2 are connected. I started with a pencil drawing in image 1. Once I had the concept, I setup some models... all stock from Poser over the years. Next I finished the pencil/ink drawing using the Poser models for reference, as seen in image 2. So, image 1 wasn't completed until I had posed the models in image 2. Image 3 consists of the elements I created in Vue. Each of these elements are on separate layers. A typical image might have 25-50 layers as I work through my process. In the end I work that down to 10 or fewer layers. Image 4 is the combined elements in Photoshop & my typical postwork. Painting in Adobe is my favorite part:) Please note; although I use Poser clothing for lighting reference, I almost always repaint it entirely. In this example the shirt is finished & the shorts are untouched. Image 5 is a detail of the postwork on the water. Nothing is finished, but I'm not posting this in hopes to impress. For those that have asked, this is what my process looks like in a nutshell. Sorry it took so long to get it posted & my apologies for being brief. Thanks for viewing and inspiring me with all your fantastic images! peace Pouchy

The way his rod is bending it looks like his line is caught in the tree.

Oh dear I had missed this one but you're on my favourites now so it won't happen again. You inspire me to paint again and often, I hope I can do it. Unbelievable.
