Ok, this is a wall in my condo, with some art from around the world. (See full, for better detail...)
Wanna know what these are? Well the two tapestries are arpilleras from Peru, handmade by two women who make these in their villages. I have several, which I rotate every few months. You have to see them closeup to see the gorgeous patch-sewn animals, suns, birds, etc. I've loved folk-art since childhood, and this is folk-art at its best, at least to me...
The three items in the center are (left) a mexican ceramic owl, (right) a balanese mask, and (on top) an african peace-mask. It's got beads throughout.
The painting below is my bamboo painting (the one I did a short tale on recently). The mounting is my own, from when I studied Chinese scroll mounting. (Well, a little---it's a 15 year apprentice---I gave it 3 weeks! But hey...)
The stuff below is what art historians call a MESS! (I'm PROUD of my mess!) Painting and mixing bowls, a stoneware mask by the wonderful Andrea/durleybeachbum, and---on the left---a major work of art: A HEATER. (Straight from the Tate, in London.) (yeah, right...)
The purple thing on the right---behind the right-side tapestry: a beautiful Peruvian loom-weave.
(The wall is paint and plaster. It's NOT a work of art.)
I have all kinds of art on my other walls (incl from friends)...I'll share more in the future. I just thought I'd share a wall with you! Now you can go back to your regularly scheduled programming. (Next week: My FREEZER........no, just kidding...)
Have a fine thursday, all! Thanks for your wonderful visits!

This is an interesting and beautiful collection, Mark. I especially like the arpilleras. Back when I did traveling, I always sought some article to purchase that was representative of the local "craft art."

Those tapestries are just delightful and so colorful. I have to remind myself these were not done with Poser or Photoshop.... It's the actual stuff... It's been sooo long since I've tried anything 'traditional.' I'd probably stab myself with a pencil... And I recognize your wonderful bamboo painting.
Dude..... Seriously..... A mess? That, my good friend, is NOT a mess.... I just spent most of the day doing some major cleaning and re-arranging in my shop.... I have photos - I can show you what a professional level mess looks like! I'm an expert with messes - I've been studying the techniques since I was about 5..... 🤣
I might post some mess photos.... Heck, I've gotten so much mileage out of those marbles, it might be fun to see what happens with 10 pounds of miscellaneous nuts, bolts, screws, washers, and things I have no idea what are... 😆

What a wonderful collection of priceless objects and gifts. You officially have more beautiful colors on this one wall than I do in my entire life! :) The tapestries are really stunning. The masks are super cool and your mess... is not a mess. Thanks for showing these things to us; it truly is a fascinating collection. I loved hearing about all these things.

WOW! Mark! This is SOO beautiful. Extra beautiful, when it is on your walls. I love your windy bamboo too. And.... Mess? Is that all you can perform to make a mess... pathetic. You dont even know what mess is, untill you have seen my table in my little room, where also my bed and my computer is. THAT is MESS. I tidy it up once a month (my art table) and after 2 hours, its the same again, so why bother. I tell you why. I can't work with no desk space, can I? I need to be able to actually see my table. Atleast in A4 size. Love your wall!!!

Ha, I don't see no mess. If you want to see a mess you should see my rolltop desk. And/or my living room with the cardboard boxes holding tons of DVDs, and/or my computer area. But I digress. Your wall and table top hand made objects are really artistic, labors of love from people you know internationally, even Andrea, she of life in a cabana on the beach fame. Very nice stuff, Mark. I have nothing like that, my walls are virtually naked.

I see your wall and I see you are a structured person and you like it cosy and warm with beloved memories from your art and trips in other countries and some things from friends and things to feel good - thats a wall for entrance and every one can see it - the wall say: hello and welcome, I am open for culture and art and people - so many to see on a wall!

A lovely collection. So wonderful to see an artist’s home. I had weavers in my family, so I am most attracted to those beautiful red edges of the Peruvian weavings. Oh, and the heater is superb! 😜
