It's dark meanwhile in Germany, almost 8.00 pm. Outside the window I see lights behind all of the windows and snow, lots of snow. But here it's a cosy kind of snow while in other regions of our country and Europe it's not possible to drive anymore. I hold my thumbs for all of the people who still sit in cars and trains or wait on airports that they may come home safe and in a whole!
We had a fun day today, went out to shop some groceries in the morning and at midday went to our favorite pub to see friends and celebrate with them until 3.00 pm. Then we went home, had coffee and a Stollenstern, decorated the tree (only lights today to see if our young cats will get used to it... more, maybe, tomorrow) and now Leo fixes the meal.
I do not know if you are interested at all in our little, not very fancy kind to celebrate christmas. But anyway: We only have white christmas every 8-10 years and so it's something very special to us, the whole day I had the feeling of a bit player in a christmas movie ;o) All people where so relaxed and friendly, complete strangers took the time to say "Frohes Fest", the young folks who work in the supermarket offered large breads as presents - all with a chrsistmas tree carved into the outer crust and when we unwrapped what we bought at the butcher we found a little liverwurst that the till girl secretly put to the pork filet.
I hear people complain about consume terror in these times - but in fact the whole little town was a party today with easygoing people and lots of time because most of them left the car at home.
Okay, enough of this ;o) I hope that you are all safe and warm at the moment, either already enjoying good food and company and the one or other present or still waiting for the Holy Evening. have yourself a very merry christmas wherever you are!
