Description

A SELF-REFERENTIAL DON'T TOUCH Vue 5 Infinite I'm a bit superstitious sometimes - when it comes to long renders anyway. This one took many, many hours, even noded and networked, and I foolishly harbor fears that the slightest movement near the machine will cause the mouse cursor to move, and the slowly grinding rendering engine to crash at the halfway point or something. Hence the "Don't Touch" note-it. The length of the render was largely due to the illumination, rather high quality volumetric, with the screen image on the computer monitor being a semitransparent plane bearing the screenshot, illuminated from behind by a bank of 45 unfocused, dim pointlights, (visible in the lower right of the screenshot of the monitor's image) and rendered out to 2200 X 1650 pixels, in order to more easily facilitate any post-production pixel level fixes. No doubt, there's a more efficient way of doing this, but there ya go. My meshes: Vaio computer, Homeland Security coffeecup, mouse, keys, Vue 5 Infinite manual, keyboard body (not the keys though) , rubber band, cables, coins, pen and marking pen on table, Note-It paper, computer monitor base, mousepad, all bumps, textures, image maps, etc. Downloaded stuff: Monitor screen body, pens, scissors in the coffee cup.

WOW... At first I thought it was a photo... Then I looked at the botton and it read "Vue and Still Life"... And then I looked at the screen... I went like: WOW... And decided to leave a comment... ;) keep it up!

I also thought it was a photo... Excellent render. I don't like to let my renders go on for more than overnight. Any longer and my computer flips out.. Once again excellent render.

I don't even know what to say. The lighting is just unreal. I love this kind of stuff, but I just don't have the time or patience to do it. Superb.

There's just something WRONG when the 'realest' thing in a picture is the image on a computer monitor.
