Description

A fellow modeling friend, who has been very kind to me, asked if I might send him my Field of Flanders canvas from a few years ago. A concept that I was never happy with but knew I would one day return to.. this was my chance to rework this with better skills. I hope you all approve of this new interpretation.

Fantastic concept and very well executed! I really like how the elements work together. A little critique, though: I think the knight on the left could be a little more to the right. He's needed to balance the image, but being so far from the others he looks a bit out of the place. A 5 from me anyway :)

Thanks, Don, to have made this new interpretation of this excellent concept! The sad dog on his master's grave is poignant. Very interesting idea and compo, particularly the lighting! My Grand-Father and my wife's Grand-Father were both wounded during the WW1, and my wife's grand Father died few years later ...

The uniforms change, but we still fight and die for the same scraps of land... Very emotive piece of art, don't think I saw the original but this is excellent..10/10

I think it's fabulous. When I see the image is only one aware that such a field would be subjected to more wars than you can imagine. The location is the same, but many generations of people fell prey to the madness of war ... Great work!
