Description

A Faerie Tale The faeries rode again last night,It was the most amazing sight. They slid down moonbeams, silver-wrought,Into the treetops, there they stopped. We heard them giggling through the leaves,Like a tinkling rustling Autumn breeze. The twinkling light before our eyes,Could have been errant fireflies. But our hearts knew without a doubt,The seasons change brought magic out. They stole away as daylight broke,Our next breaths caught in our throats. The magic they practiced overnight,Was evident by mornings light. Amazing colours danced in the leaves,Caressed in wonder by a passing breeze. Exotic jewels they've us for you,They hang there glistening in the dew. Have no fear they will be back,So many leaves still show the lack. Of colours suited to the fall,To amaze and dazzle one and all. Soon comes Autumn's wind a blowing,Soon summer's leaves will all be going To a grand cotillion with the breeze,Which will then with all the leaves. Will fashion majestic quilt of wondrous size,Which will appear to untrained eyes, As leaves just carelessly strew around,Bright patches of colour there on the ground. It blankets all below them there,From the coming Winter's frigid air. As the flower beds begin to sleep,Throughout the winter; dark and deep And so we'll watch again tonight,And hope to catch this magic sight. Of faeries dancing through the trees,Painting awesome colours upon the leaves. Ah! There they go, at dawn's first blush,There lies forgotten a magic brush! Silent evidence of magic done,Before the rising of the sun.

OK #2 Hope you enjoy! Mullaney needed an explaination for the colour changes happening. She liked this one. Now she wants to go to bed early so she can wake up and catch the faeries painting. We found a stick under a tree. Sha explained it was a " teeny tiny paintbrush" " see Nana the faeries DID come!'

Words delivered with such magnificent eloquence. I thought that kind of literature was a lost art that went out with the likes of Frost, Longfellow and Walden, but am happy it's still alive.

Mullaney sees faeries everywhere! Dragons as well! They sound like daio's little p'dwagons when she describes them. I feel so young when we walk and she talks. I hope your daughter enjoys it! BJ
