I did some art as a kid, but stopped in my twenties. When I retired from a long career in computer software, I was able to scratch the itch again. I use Carrara 8.5 Pro and Daz Studio for composition and rendering, and Fireworks and Photoshop for postwork and textures. I'm more of a storyteller than an artist: I like creating (and viewing) scenes that tell a story -- or strongly suggest one.
I live in Sacramento, California USA with my wife. We soon will be "empty nest" - we're actually looking forward to that LOL!. I volunteer at my church providing needy folks with food, clothing, and job search assistance.
I appreciate the many great artists here who have been SO wonderful to me, giving encouragement and pointers. PLEASE drop a line or comment on my gallery. I appreciate your words, good or bad: It energizes me and keep me growing - and going.

***** UPDATE 5/26/2016 *****
I was amazed my last update was one year ago. It didn't seem that long. Thanks for the kind inquiries received. All things considered, I AM doing okay. I'm amazed anybody remembers me its been so long since I posted an image or a comment.
I was severely ill for almost a year. I won't bore you with the details, let's just say I was caught in kind of a "perfect storm" of things that hit me all at once. I have a permanently compromised immune system that makes every illness SOOOO complex. Fortunately a couple of brilliant doctors have mostly restored me but it took a good deal of time and effort to get me here. Just as I started pulling out of my mess, my wife got sick too. We are both much better, and slowly improving as time wears on, but neither of us are 100% yet.
Taking care of ourselves takes a good deal of time, and I still can't seem to do anything as quickly or as well as I once did. Fatigue plagues me, robbing me of more time. Some weeks I can manage 3-4 hours of play time, but mostly I'm just too tired to sit in front of the computer. I've done a handful of images in the past few months, but haven't been enthused by them so I haven't bothered to post them.
Many thanks to the people who have contacted me via sitemail or email. I am sorry if I have not responded in a timely manner, but I assure you your concern and words have cheered me greatly. Your mails have got me thinking of at least dropping by your galleries, just to stay in touch. That idea is most appealing! Thanks for caring.
