I did some artwork as a kid, but stopped in my twenties. After retiring from a long career in computers, I've finally scratched the itch again. I use Carrara 8.5 Pro and Daz Studio for composition and rendering, and Fireworks and Photoshop for postwork and textures. I'm more of a storyteller than an artist. I like creating (and viewing) scenes that tell a story -- or strongly suggest one. My Aranée series is based on a story idea I created - I have a complete story outline and character synopsis to keep things coherent. Who knows, maybe I will publish this one someday?
I live in Sacramento, California USA with my wife. We are about 6 months away from being "empty nest" - we're actually looking forward to that LOL!. I'm active volunteering in my church which includes food and clothing ministries, as well as helping people find jobs.
All of you have been SO wonderful to me, giving me encouragement and pointers. PLEASE drop me a line or comment on my gallery. Say what needs to be said, good or bad: Your words energize me and keep me growing - and going.

***** UPDATE 5/26/2016 *****
I was amazed to see my last update was one year ago. It didn't seem that long ago. Thanks for the kind inquiries received. All things considered, I AM doing okay. I'm amazed anybody remembers me its been so long since I posted an image or a comment.
I was severely ill for almost a year. I won't bore you with all the details, let's just say I was caught in kind of a "perfect storm" of things that hit me all at once. I have a permanently compromised immune system that just made all of it SOOOO complex. Fortunately a couple of brilliant doctors pulled me out of most it but it took them about a year to do so. Then just as I started pulling out of my mess, my wife got sick too. Now we are both much better, and getting better slowly as time wears on, but neither of us are what we consider 100%. At least we are making progress, so we have hopes of making it!
Taking care of ourselves takes a good deal of time, and compounding that, I can't seem to do anything as quickly or as well as I used to. Fatigue plagues me, robbing me of more time. Some weeks I can scrape up 3-4 hours of play time, but often I'm just too tired to sit in front of the computer. I've done a handful of images in the past few months, but haven't been too enthused by them so I haven't bothered to post them.
Many thanks for people who have inquired about me via sitemail or email. I am sorry if I have not responded in a timely manner, but you have no idea how much your concern and words have cheered me. Your mails have got me thinking of at least dropping by your galleries, just to stay in touch. That idea is most appealing! Thanks for caring.
