Born at a very early age in Hillingdon Middlesex England in 1953 and grew up in Hayes, very close to London airport.
I've been interested in illustration since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I even went to Art School until the money ran out and the temp job became permanent. I wanted to study animation, but also had to live, so I became a computer programmer, and was successful at it. I finally sold my Indonesian communications business and retired here last year, and have concentrated on 3D illustration since then. I find that knowing what goes behind the scenes in these programs is a great help, and of course I'm not frightened by complexity.
My influences have been many and varied, but right now I am a big fan of the pin-ups of Gil Elvgren from the mid 40's and 50's. I couldn't talk about illustration without mentioning Mort Drucker, who was a huge childhood influence on me. Generally the second world war and the 15 years following it generated some astounding artists, and my long-term plan is to get good enough to generate objects, figures and clothing from that era.
