Today I got around to designing the in-game avatar for my character Skye. This was a fun process, for sure. To get into her head. Analyzing why we play the roles we choose to play in RPGs. For Skye, she comes from a broken home. There was never anyone around to protect her. So, she built a tank. A shield to shelter others with. Also, why not at least check out some of the models I haven't worked with yet from the Genesis 2 era? I chose Vianne for Victoria 6 to start with I wanted a model that looked strong. Vianne fits the bill body-wise, but.. I wasn't liking her. And then I thought to try out Aspen for Gia's skin on her. I really wanted to use the tattoos, you see. Only I'm already using Aspen for another character, so I couldn't just reuse it. I mean, I could, but... Anyway. I thought to give it a try before loading Aspen and making some alterations to make it different from Noble Savage. And... Just changing the skin made Vianne kinda perfect. Added the tats. Changed eye color. And next went to hair. Used the Pure Hair: Punk, which had a lovely Violet mat for it. Both the style and the color allude to Skye's room-mate, who was at the time her neighbor and crush. Danelle is straight, but the two looked out for each other. And eventually move to the city together. Their relationship since the move has become rocky... but I don't want to give any spoilers. So, in the course of the first novel, it comes out that Skye used to play the same MMO that Lenny and Lola play. She'll find reason to start playing again, where she'll find her "max-level" character is now only mid-level due to many level cap increases since she stopped. You know how it is in an MMO. Today I decided it was time to render that character, which is why we're here now. Back to the details. The armor set is "Historical Armor" for V4. Oddly enough, there was supposed to be a bodysuit with it, but it wasn't showing up. Which is why it's a little cheeky. Which really makes sense from a video game standpoint, lol. Again, you know how MMO's are. Just add some panties to protect her modesty, and give her a longsword. At first I thought of doing some sort of action shot, but then I remembered. This is Skye. And she's a little cheeky. So why not a full-armor pinup? And then why not a half-armored pinup? It's just fun. And while not as stunning as my render from yesterday (Lenny Cosplay) it was fun and I can technically check Vianne off my checklist of ladies that need their picture taken, since there's iray versions too! The skydome came with an HDRI, so setting up iray versions wasn't too hard. One slight seem issue, but that was just because I used SY's 3DL to Iray converter which always creates seams on Genesis 2 figures for some reason. I just needed to reapply with Uber Base to fix it. No biggie. As a character study, it works. It's easy to see Skye in this character. And if the game had nude options, she's totally do a nude pinup of her game character. I can see it now. She sends Lenny a message to see if she's interested in nudes, and Lenny almost passes out. Then this pops up... Hmm. Maybe she's got GIMP skills or something, because that sounds like a fun scene. Of course, true to form. eventually I'll need to convert this armor to a G8 set. Because I don't see Skye not getting involved in the convention cosplay fun! Plus, it's fun to dress them up as the characters they play.I'm going to have to make it look like EVA foam. Hmm... This is starting to sound like fun! Been pretty ill today, but still got to take care of Mom, so I've been keeping an ear open and streaming these random stuff. I think tomorrow I'm going to leave the computer off and do some reading. Get a fresh start next week on further scene illustrations, as I also get started on my next phase in editing. After I doodle around a bit more tonight, of course. One more stream... Honestly, just trying to keep myself still. Also, I want to do another of Ellen, but I got an idea I've got to follow right now so I'll put that off for Monday. Or tomorrow. I figure my Daz fasting will last until 10PM, lol. Hope these were fun for you. I've been learning quite a bit about 3DL. I got more to learn though before I fell totally comfortable using it in a somewhat regular fashion. I think I will always prefer iray, but... Just another tool in the box, right? And something easier for me to tackle than advanced post work!
