I'm going to call the housing athority on my issue, try and see if I can get a free consultation from a lawyer on what options I have.

If your lease says nothing about animals/pets, you have a leg to stand on. But, if it states no pets allowed and you signed the lease with that clause standing, you are out of luck...But, if your local tenant's rights are anything like NYC's, even if your lease says no pets allowed, but if you do openly have a pet and your landlord knows about it for a number of months and makes no move to ask you to get rid of the pet, the landlord loses...Everything depends on your lease and local laws.
