From the days when a homeowner was broadcasting to his neighbors..."Look at how wealthy I am", (the more iron, the more money). That's the way it was 130-150 years ago but today we as observers really can enjoy the fruit of the ironmongers trade.

Your angle and deep shadow underneath make this another of your packed architectural captures, with lots going on. The trees in front add to the shadows and richness of texture. And the bright sky gives total contrast. And as for the iron work, it's a beauty; and with all the ironwork I see around here, I never knew that it was a status symbol. It would make sense. (Today, it costs a fortune to get work like this; and there are fewer artisans who do it.) It's glorious stuff. A big packed shot, Bill, I love the details you captured,, and how many of them. A beautiful packed shot.
