I love maps, and globes are the best! You have it turned so I can see where we are right now (Vicksburg, Mississippi). This area has been pre-Colonial Native American (and in particular what's called Mississippian), Spanish, French, English, Confederate States, and United States. Lots and lots of history, and there's something about looking at a map that makes the present an abstract concept. Everything exists all at once in a map. SO interesting!
