Nice! Very nice. Floors like this remind me of...well...floors like this: quite a large number of which exist in bars older than this country (the floors are newer, probably replaced in the 1700s or thereabouts!) and the walls get all sweaty in interesting ways. I love the light and the wood-grain. Nice. Very nice!

The year my Grandmother was born. They made 'em good and strong then, fit for purpose. I love your POV, and the little line of light on the one floorboard.

I like places like this. I like the feeling of all the people and things that happened in old places. If you stand there you can hear the whispers of all those people. Yea yea, I know it's my imagination, but yea, I like the feel of old places. Beautiful capture.

This is really fine composition. The light on the floorboard leads the eye directly to the single light blub and the bright outside. Excellent work.

if only the floors and walls could talk; what stories they could tell us

Well done. I like that you used a low POV - makes the shot so much more dramatic and attractive.

A super shot of this barn and the light coming from outside. This barn remends me of our yearly trip to an old barn with SAND floor and all the raw walls and benches along the walls. That is where our club is having BBQ in the autumn. :)

I bet those 2"x8" planks were really 2x8 instead of the smaller lumber available today. I can't tell from this image, but the floor could have been secured with wooden dowels or forged nails.

Great shot hon. Imagine in the late 1870s, the mansion, the barn and all the outbuildings were built for $40,000 by a work force of twenty men. I read that there was such great activity during the building phase that travelers crossing the plains mistook the ranch for Strong City.

Wonderful photo, Wolfenshire hit it on the head with his description of old places and how it feels to be there. You CAN hear and smell and sometimes, out of the corner of your eye, see into the past. Really nice. Rick

What a great pic you have here......I really like the limestone wall in the back and the wooden floor..........looks like it could take some hard knocks and keep on going....... Love the little shaft of light on the floors as well:) Great pic Hugs Susan~

This is a quintessential Tara shot; dark and light extremes, and wonderful textures and "the light, the light!" What a fantastic capture!

This dark-light compositions like me always very good. Reminds me of near-death experiences! A fantastic building. Many old buildings we've seen, who are still in operation!
