Description

I'm not done with this model yet. However, this has come out so nice that I thought I would post it. The planetary backdrop was the hardest part! 100% Carrara. The DGC EnhanceC shaders continue to pay off.

I must say my friend I'm so glad you went with the original design!

I am of course impressed with the CG in the 2004 Batylestar Galactica show. However, I much prefer the designs of the ships from the original 1978 series. The new designs are a little too organic for me whereas the old designs have a real machine feel.

Sometimes the old designs are the best.

Love the color transitions on this one; fine modeling and texturing; nice focal point provided by the background star and flare. Great work!!

Awesome image!!! Is there a tutorial somewhere how to do the background in CG? I've seen many but they are all done in photoshop.

I am actually writing an article for c3dexpo magazine which will discuss my space scene techniques. EnhanceC and Veloute plugins make a big difference! I will also be providing source files with the article.
