Description

Beautiful flying weather...crisp, clear, visibility to the horizon. My favorite biplane, the Albatross, and the "low and slow". Still it's off to work with all that entails. Since my alpha plane "forest" idea worked better than reasonably well, I decided to try some material distribution maps. It bothers me to have a scene of a hangar on the grass with no wear in front of the hangar or no worn vehicle paths, so it was a great test...I like how it turned out and will definitely put in my bag of tricks. With some exceptions, this is a tribute to the modeling skills and generosity of Neiwil. Very many thanks, Neil. Great fun. Albatross with various textures; Free on share cg by Neiwil (in one of his Christmas packages from last year...I'm not telling which one...go get 'em all!) Adrian barracks and Bessoneau hangar and Drachen balloon (hope I got those right: free WW I present from neiwil this year again on share. Bomb Storer: I had this located behind the stand of trees but forgot what I was about, lit a cigar, and, well...anyhow it's free in its original form in the WW I pack by Neiwil Cardboard ground crew. 1900's Ford T Ambulance by Nationale7 here on Rendo Gotha bomber was free on sketchup warehouse by JIHS no longer available. Cinema4D 6XL, Poser7. Vue6Infinite, PS Cs3

You've certainly succeeded in creating those worn paths. Please share your techniques! (Love this era as well - though I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to live it!)

I kind of had you in mind when making these, I knew you could put them to good use but this is way beyond expectation.Stunning work Bill, truly...the worn ground plane is a thoughtful and well executed touch. I may have to hang this in the pilots mess down at 'The Plant'... :-) 10/10++ Thanks for the mention, always very much appreciated....
