Description

Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. Today is Canada's birthday. Lots of events going around, plus fireworks tonight. Its 26C and sunny today, so is a perfect day for sitting out on the deck with a cool drink. The yellow fields in this picture is a canola crop. It looks not too bad, but actually the quality is poor this year because of so much rain. If we can keep rainfree and lots of sun for the next month or so the crops can catch up before harvest. Jim

Happy Birthday Canada, I am happy I got to learn so much about your wonderful Country and people working there for so long, even though most of my time there was always in the dead of Winter, LoL. That looks a lot like Kansas, from what I the Wheat Harvest in Kansas was Early and Bumper Crop this year due to the Mild Winter and good Spring Rains. Super shot man Peace

Lovely shot, we have a very flat landscape here in Norfolk, UK and we grow oil seed rape which is also yellow. So far apart yet so alike. Happy birthday cousins.

Canola used to be called rape seed. They changed the name of it about 20 years ago due to political correctness. Its still the same thing, just a less shocking name. :)

This captures the vastness of Canada perfectly for me. Wonderful image Jim. I hope the crops will ripen. Enjoy your special day. We are having the same problem, with rain everywhere. Can't believe that areas of the U.K. were on official drought orders a couple of months ago and now we are wallowing in water.

Yes! Happy Birthday, Canada! (a couple days late - sorry...) I'm from the USA. I worked in NATO with Canadian military personnel. One guy was always fond of telling me (with a mischievous grin on his face): "Ahh, yes - the United States; it's right next door to Heaven." LOL Beautiful photo, Jim!
