Description
Just watched the new "A Princess of Mars" based on ERB's John Carter on Mars series of novels. The movie stars Traci Lords, the ex-porn actress.I must admit that it was better than I expected. (Meaning that it was watchable) the special effects were OK. The acting left much to be desired. I cant wait for the big budget one comming from Disney in the near future.
This is obvious inspired by the Frank Franzetta painting.

Oiks it's been forever since I heard of this series! (I think I found the movie a bit ho-humish but watchable)

Don't know the fictional works you are referring to, but this is a great poster.

Excellent job. Nice work. You captured the look of Franzetta to a T.

Okay, since you list the Lords flick as your starting point, I'll forgive you a few points. Where to begin? (1) Dejah Thoris, like the majority of martians / Barsoomians, has brilliant red skin and jet black hair. (2) John Carter, while a well-built ex-cavalryman, is strong because of her Earthly muscles in the weaker Martian gravity, not because he's overpumped. (3) Tars Tarkas, like all adult green Barsoomians, is very tall (about 10'-12') and thin. The build you gave him would be better suited to the White Apes of Barsoom. (4) I'll give you one big moon as artistic license but that far bigger moon? No. Overall, a fine Sword & Sandals fantasy cover. But NOT a John Carter cover.
