Description

This is another shot of my mantis friend. When I was a teenager growing up in rural East Tennessee, I knew many old farmers who called the Preying Mantis the “Devil Horse”. They were convinced that a Devil Horse would attack and bite you; most believed the bite was poisonous. I shot this silhouette without flash, and enhanced the colors a bit to give it a more Apocalyptic feel.

Excellent silhouette and compo! I love the story about the old folk thinking it was poisonous! Interesting! :)
