So sorry about the mistake. I thought I should drop this post then decided to leave it so you all may know the correct date of Mere's birthday (April-26). I only realized my mistake because I did a Birthday post for her two years ago (she wasn't here last year) on April-26-2005 (which I assume is the correct date back then) and went back to check it out in my gallery. When I viewed that image, at the top, it said "loaded March-18". I didn't read close enough to note it was indicating MY last upload date. That's how this happened for what it's worth.. So.. On the upside.. You all now have plenty of notice to start your Birthday renders for her. Happy early Birthday Mere!!!!! (now I'll go shoot myself...)

Dear Dave, Well - you were a little early - and I'm running a LOT late!!!! And please don't shoot yourself!! (But if you've got an itchy trigger finger, I have a long list of folks on my better dead list!!!!!!) ;-) Anyway, we'll just ignore the little date mix up and consider you being very prompt!!!!!!! Thank you so much for thinking of me!!! And also for the clever card positioning to avoid any "sensibility problems!!!" Hmmmm - "sensibility" and "Meredith" - those are not words that are often found in close proximity!!!!! ;-) Nice hunky guys - with said sensibilities - well covered (must be a new euphemism,) and a great background from master David!!! Super cute and I thank you so very much!!!! By the way - here's a little update about why I'm a little late to the party!!! This trip is turning into one of those where I think should have stayed in Texas. It got really hectic and we were working "the numbers" almost around the clock. We're not only hustling clients but THE Boss is also "shopping" - "due diligence" in other words!!! ;-) Anyway, I came down with some crummy stomach virus - which Janice came down with even worse a few hours later. THE Boss was busy trying to decide whether he should put me out of my misery - there was no question Janice would have been better off dead! So we spent a couple of VERY miserable days and finally got to the point where continued living didn't seem quite as dreadful as before - and that's when the hotel started shaking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hide under the bed during thunderstorms - what the dickens do you do in an earthquake when you're on top of a hotel reaching halfway up to Mars?????? Janice was as freaked out as I - maybe worse, although I'm not sure that's possible - so we huddled between the beds and dragged the mattresses over us!! I tried to call THE Boss on my "Tokyo rental" cell phone! Which did absolutely no good because everyone in the entire country must have hit speed dial at the first quiver!!!! And then THE Boss comes running in from the suite's living room. He had been downstairs - and knew we'd be scared out of our wits - so he ran up the fire stairs to check on us since everyone in Tokyo was trying to come down the elevators!!! From a practical standpoint there was absolutely nothing he could do but I've never been so glad to see someone in my life!!! That is, for about two seconds - until the big jerk looked at us buried beneath the mattresses and started laughing himself silly!!!!! He's a big guy, but between the fits of laughing and his gasping for breath from running the stairs, Janice and I figured we might be able to push him out the window!!! Eventually - his insanity and that of our predicament caught us and we started laughing, too!!! Anyway - fortunately nothing much happened here in Tokyo other than a big scare for everyone. We girls are feeling better - and actually ate something - so we're gonna try to get back on schedule and wrap things up so we can move on to Hong Kong. By the way, when the phones finally settled down, Tom (VP, director of programming) called after seeing the news reports about the earthquake. He said he did the "only rational thing and auctioned off everything in my office - so he could buy himself a Meredith Memorial set of new golf clubs!!" I'd like to wrap a nine iron around his neck!!!! To borrow a line one more time from Rodney Dangerfield, "It's not easy being me!!!!" Anyway - things are maybe starting to settle down again. We're heading for Hong Kong tomorrow. I'm trying to do a quick catch up on IM's and E-mails before our last meeting this afternoon. Let's see - it must be late Monday night back in the states - it's a little after lunch on Tuesday here!! The 14 hour time difference alone is enough to scramble my long suffering blond brain cells!!! Thank you so much again for thinking of me and for being so very much on time!!!!!!!!!!!! Love ya!!!
