Description

Another illustration for Call of Cthulhu. This one shows Azathoth himself, the greatest and most terrible of all the gods of H.P. Lovecraft's stories, so I wanted to do something really scary with lots of tentacles and stuff. Hope it worked somehow to do Azathoth at least a little justice. A step by step tutorial of this piece will appear in Martin McKenna

Fantastic work -- and it certainly captures the Lovecraft feel. The mouths in the tentacles are a nice touch.

Facinating how much interest there is in H.P. Lovecraft---Have you seen Mark Ryden's take on Cthulu? i would really like to see an imaginative portrait done of "H.P" posing with his fellow shut in, writer of nightmares and obsessive letter writer Robert E. Howard... Thanks!

WOW...you did this in Painter ? I am just learning painter and am a far cry from this. WOW. ( no pun intended ). Your work is superb. I know one thing, that program is not easy. How you created this image is a mystery to me. Absolutely love it. You must be the Michaelangelo of Painter. LOL. Seriously it does kind of remind me of the Sistene chapel. ( I know I didnt spell that right....must be the flu ) The digital painting workshop...where will that be or what form will it be in ? I would love to see it......Absolutely SUPERB !!!!! V

(Necronomicon)

I have to bow down to you with this one. You have proved you are one of the best graphic artists there is. This must have taken a lot of thought to set this all up the way you did. It's beyond words.
