I did a double take on this memorial. This is just a part of it. It really "broke the mold" in my experience of battlefield memorials and seems to be very heartfelt. Not surprising in a way; many of the monuments were put up by veterans groups of the units that fought in these locations. This one certainly hits home... you'll see. Enjoy; thanks for viewing. The date is something of a running joke with the missus, it's also the date of the signing of the US Constitution and our wedding anniversary. If you've seen the Fawlty Towers episode when Sybil asks Basil does he remember what day it is and he answers "Agincourt?" I think you get the idea. Of course Basil knows what the date means to her and he's planning a surprise party. It turns out badly all round.( I need to pick better role models.)
