In 2005, they came to our world in their machines of war only to be stopped by the tiniest creatures of our world. In 2190, man had long discovered a tachyon particle and found a way to mimic its faster than light properties, but despite the desire to travel to the stars, Earth's space resources was devoted to defending Earth and its colonies from another alien attack with the fear that traveling to the stars will bring them here. It took the fear of another War of the Worlds, invaders from space coming to our world on their own, to being man's conquest of the stars. *************************************************** Recently I had thought about instead of World War 3, the Eugenics Wars or First Contact, what if Star Trek's history began with the War of the Worlds, and where would it lead? And chose 2190 because episodes like Space Seed and Tomorrow is Yesterday implied that Star Trek took place in the late 22nd century. Stating 200 years or 2 centuries instead of 3. And redid the 2190 segment cause it did sound like what would have emerged was the Terran Star Empire.
