Description

In 1911 The Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin introduced the Model 7D. 5,625 units were initially produced and the model 7D's F-head IOE engine was in use until 1929. It originally sold for $300, which with inflation, would be $7619 in today's currency. Ignition was via a magneto, and the engine was started using bicycle-style pedals. Instead of a conventional clutch, a pulley belt tensioner could be moved, allowing the leather drive belt to slip. January 15, 2014 a 1911 Model 7D sold for $165,000 at auction in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many thanks to the talented engineers, designers and artists at Sketchup Warehouse for the fabulous models.
