Hello dear Rendosians !
Today, I'm back with a composition inspired by my visit of San Antonio (Texas, USA).
San Antonio is well-known for its Riverwalk (or Paseo del Rio) and most of all for the Fort Alamo, the symbol of revolution for freedom.
Here are some explanations about the Alamo battle I found on wikipedia :
The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna reclaimed the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas, United States), killing the Texian and immigrant occupiers. Santa Anna's cruelty during the battle inspired many Texians, both legal Texas settlers and illegal immigrants from the United States, to join the Texian Army. Buoyed by a desire for revenge, the Texians defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the rebellion.
For us, Europeans, we mostly know The Alamo because of the myth of Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie who died there with other peoples who came from Tennessee when they heard about the Texas Revolution.
Davy Crockett even said : "You may all go to Hell but I will go to Texas !"

Je te dédie cette composition Jean-Luc car je t'avais promis des photos de San Antonio et que je n'ai pas encore tenu ma promesse par manque de temps en cette période de rentrée !
Plutôt qu'une photo classique du Fort Alamo, j'ai préféré recréer l’atmosphère que m'inspire ce lieu à partir de photos faites dans son parc et sur le parvis. C'était le moyen le plus sûr de ne pas avoir de touristes sur mon image (rires !)
J'espère que tu ne seras pas déçu car tu es un spécialiste du blending et de la composition !

Superbe composition autour de ce lieu historique mythique, excellent travail!

Je regarde ta superbe création magnifiquement composée et centrée sur Davy Crockett qui semble émerger du bâtiment, un peu comme un fantôme...je ferme les yeux et je vois John Wayne combattre pour le Texas avec Richard Widmark à ses côtes et j'entends cette si belle chanson, The green leaves of Summer, sans oublier ce morceau de trompette qui me donne la chair de poule et signifiant que Santa Anna sera sans merci, Deguello. Sans entendre ce morceau, j'ai entendu des trompettes sonnant comme cela pendant la semaine sainte à Grenade ou à Cordoue et ça m'a à chaque fois remué.

if you go to San Jacinto, be sure and take some powerful mosquito repellent. they have some very mean and aggressive ones there.

Une surprise totale que ce montage photo superbement réalisé, je te remercie chaleureusement de cette attention en ces temps de rentrée où tu l'imagines bien, j'étais depuis quelques jours loin du site, occupé également par la rentrée et les surprises de la nouvelle réforme du lycée...J'aime beaucoup le côté nostalgique et historique des témoins des photos que tu as retenus pour les inclure en fondu enchaîné, un exercice technique qui, comme la tablette graphique, n'a plus de secret pour toi ! Beaucoup de sang a été versé dans les batailles que se sont livrés les Etats-Unis et le Mexique, l'un pour étendre ses territoires et l'autre pour tenter de les garder à tout prix. La référence à la bataille de San Jacinto m'a fait rechercher un titre de Peter Gabriel que j'ai écouté en boucle, fut un temps; en voici le lien: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1IxE6z1tjo.....Je trouve qu'il a en commun avec ta superbe photo, cette nostalgie d'événements qui laissent une trace profonde dans l'histoire d'un peuple, d'un pays....Encore un grand merci, Virginie, bonne rentrée, et bonne semaine !
