Description

Hello my dear Rendosian friends ! I didn't have much time to upload images in my gallery or to comment your artwork those days : I had too much to do at work ! I've visited a fabulous place last week-end : a bunker belonging to the Maginot Line. The Maginot Line is a line of concrete fortifications, obstacles and weapon installations built by France in the 1930s to deter invasion by Germany and force them to move around the fortifications in case of war. The name of this defensive structure comes from the French War Minister André Maginot who made it built. The fortification on my picture is located at Veckring (Moselle, France) on the borderline with Germany and Luxembourg : it was built between 1929 and 1935. The place is just amazing and you can see how soldiers lived in the fortification : it was cold inside (12°C), damp and the generator was very noisy. In other words, life in the fortification was very hard during WWII : these soldiers were true heroes ! I hope you'll like my picture ! Thanks for all your nice and appreciated comments on my last picture Have a great and safe day, my friends ! Get well ! hugs Virginie
