Product Notes

Someone recently asked if there was a method to convert older PZ2 pose files into modern DUF pose files. Apparently almost every response they received was either no or not possible. Well, we're here to tell you it is possible regardless of how practical it may be. In this video demonstration we successfully loaded a PZ2 pose for the Aiko 3 character and saved it as a DUF pose using Daz Studio 4.12. Not only did it work properly when applied to the original Aiko 3 figure in a default T-pose, surprisingly the new DUF worked on the Genesis 8 Female (G8F) with only some minor adjustments needed. This video tutorial is recorded in WMV format at 1600x900 resolution. It can be used for both personal and commercial projects.

"When the original Aiko 3 Diving Shot in PZ2 format is applied directly to G8F, the result looks like she is floating in space. When the same Aiko 3 pose saved in DUF format is applied to directly G8F, the result looks like she is diving backwards and shooting at the same time."

Thank you for this explanation! I don't know why I hadn't thought of that. Just been complacent about "not-quite-right" poses too long, I guess.

Yes the original PZ2 works on Aiko 3, but may not be usable on other figures (even though not intended to) as shown in image. When the original Aiko 3 Diving Shot in PZ2 format is applied directly to G8F, the result looks like she is floating in space. When the same Aiko 3 pose saved in DUF format is applied to directly G8F, the result looks like she is diving backwards and shooting at the same time. I guess it just comes down to that it's all about personal preference and needs.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible-- the part I don't see is why it'd be necessary, if the .pz2 still works just fine.

💀THE BOATMAN🛶 humbly thanks you! He has left some amusing comments on your YouTube.

All your videos are on point without the extra fluff. Excellent! And, BTW, the is the **best **"technical support" 💀THE BOATMAN🛶 has had since he poked and prodded on a TRS-80 Model 1 in '78.

We appreciate all of the feedback. The video was created without any pre-planning in response to a customers need. It could have been a bit more organized, but the goal was to cover everything needed and get it posted for them to view.

A good video for basic pose saving in DAZ. You were through in explaining the process and demonstrating on the target figure and what can happen on other figures. The picture you had up while explaining what you are using was good. I think the in depth explanation of where to find the figure could have waited til after the main part of the video.

Gonna give this a go. Thank you.

Since I have a small fortune invested in the old Poser files, it's nice to see a way to use some of it in DS now that I've gone over to the "Dark Side".
Thank you!
