Subject: Figure Scaling in Setup Room

MNArtist ( ) posted Mon, 24 February 2020 at 10:03 AM · edited Sat, 30 December 2023 at 9:35 AM

Not sure I can ask this question correctly, but....

I want to apply an existing skeleton to a new figure, but the the new figure is about 500% larger than the original figure's skeleton. Is there a way to apply this in the setup room using the auto group/apply morphs feature? I'm using PPro2014, but I think this would apply to PPro11 as well.

not possible to scale down the figure before you applying the skeleton?

Yeah I could, but part of what I'm trying to do is establish it as a larger figure for creating morphs and (eventually) creating hair in zbrush (animal figure).

The way i would do it is to just scale it down. Apply the rig. Then scale it up again and save that one down. less hassle.

But when I save the new figure, the scale shows at 500% - so anytime the figure is exported (i.e. to Zbrush) it converts it back down to the smaller size (if that makes sense).

Can't you just re-point the cr2 to the old obj that has the right scale?

No, that's the whole problem. When you apply the skeleton in the setup room it reverts to the original size (100%) rather than the newly saved CR2 size. Basically it resets the parameter

Do you only need this 500% scale for morphing in zb? If so you could just scale up the figure before you use Goz and then scale it back down again when you've applied the morph. I do it all the time.
