Subject: Trouble installing ver6 on new Mac

AboranTouristCouncil ( ) posted Fri, 04 May 2018 at 6:14 AM · edited Fri, 19 April 2024 at 5:23 PM

Computer crashed, taking everything. New computer (MacOs (ver10.13)) Downloaded package from Renderosity, unzipped, moved whole folder to applications, when app is clicked, encounter: "Error: Please execute this application from within it's proper folder." Tried running from downloads and tried restarting computer with same results. I have not moved any of the files from the file structure. This was working on old computer with same version operating system. What am I missing here? Thanks for any help

Hello AboranTouristCouncil,

I will let Blacksmith3D answer as i'm not a Mac specialist, sorry. Could you download again from your account and check that your package unzipped properly? I do not see why, if it's located well in the application folder with all the files, your computer is crashing.

Sorry not be able to help more,

Best regards,

Clarification: old computer had program with no problems. Replaced computer and reinstalled software with new download of Blacksmith3D and encounter error message. The app did not cause crash. Sorry about the way I wrote that.

Still haven't been able to figure this one out, and sending an email to Blacksmith3D for help has given no response either.

I shan't be doing business with them in the future. Pity too as I was just learning how to use the program.
