Greetings all,

I'm a new user of DS and I'm having a small problem with reflections especially with vehicle glass and glass in structures. It maybe the content as it's all poser related cars and structures. All the vehicle bodies I bring in from my poser runtime library that I have linked to DS have reflection but the auto body glass does not. It looks frosted over and not very transparent the same goes for the glass in structures as well. I've gone to the surface editor in DS and tried to apply glass material but I bet it being Iray material it may not be working on the items I'm adding to my scene. Just looking for some suggestions to this issue. Thanks

You'll have to apply iray glass shaders. When I use Poser formatted items (or older Daz items), I first apply the iray uber shader to EVERYTHING (all surfaces). I can then apply individual shaders to each surface that I feel needs a different look or treatment. Don't forget that reflective surfaces need a light source to reflect. Even lighting can make anything look flat and you won't see any reflections in the glass. I've taken to using HDR files in the environment tab since they can have lots of different light sources and also provide the background (something to see in the reflection).
