Subject: Any good program for removing Poser content?

I need something that deletes the library items, the textures, and the OBJs. is there any utility that will do that?

Reinstalling at this point isn't really an option lol

There are a few editors that might help. The problem is all the files referenced. P3dO by SenoSoft is kind of a poser content browser with tools that could help. It's that or use Pz3Editor by PhilC for references, or one of Dimension3d's tools to look at file references. I kind of am in the same boat. I've got a runtime I wanted to break up into categories and don't know of an easy way to do it without downloading readme's for each piece.

Darkworld, if your intent is to delete some items while keeping the rest of the library, bear in mind that more than one item might use a given texture JPG or OBJ. So, if you delete everything relevant to item 1, you might inadvertently disable item 2.

I don't have a solution for safely removing all files for some items without the risk of destroying ones you want to keep.

That's why I suggested either a pz editor to look at the file references, or the P3dO. Otherwise it's going through tons of readmes... :(

The only way I know is with LM2 and its archive plugin. It will build a zip file of selected folders, read the files, find all textures and objs, and then ask if you want to remove (while saving the zip). Unfortunatly I do not know if it still available Bil

People that know everything by definition can not learn anything

Well I’d even settle for just removing the library item + OBJ and leaving the textures. Just would love a way to clean out some items

As the others have stated above P3dO would be the best choice. You can see the file references so you can manually delete the .obj and texture if you like. The pro version also allows you to cut or copy just by choosing the library file and all related files (.objs, textures) will automatically be added. http://www.senosoft.com/

There used to be an extension to Poser called PBooost, by (I think) Hogsoft. It could be used for collecting references to various Poser files. I have no idea if it's still available, or even if it works with later versions of Poser. It was originally created to allow older versions to have multiple Runtimes, as well as optimizing files and organizing things.

Easiest way of all would be P3dO pro. As stated above, yes you can see all he references but there's no need to do it manually to delete one by one.

Create a "Runtime DELETE" and with its Manager select to MOVE whatever you wish to delete there. Geometries, textures, etc will be moved at a glance!

Once you sort out your Runtimes and send there everything you don't care about, you just delete ONE folder (the Runtime Delete) and you're done pretty fast! :)

Yes P3dO would be the tool of choice I think. Sure the tool is made to verify completeness (would Poser strike a 'one or more files are missing') and not to locate garbage, but it does give an indication. I wonder if the Poser library could be extended to such point as to crawl the defined runtimes and produce a list of files actually referenced, which, by inversion with the folder content, would give a list of files Poser does not need (anymore).

It has been discontinued by the developer. I think P3dO is the best.
