only .diff files I know of are the ones u can save from a text editor that compares two files an reports the difs

eg if u make a file (python) in notepad++ then make edits to it you can compare and then save the dif file for debug purposes

of course they maybe other programs use that extension I not know of

I dont think so was this a file in a zip for an addon ?? I think its a file the developer used when making this script [probably of little use to you ] pm me a link to where u found file and I may be able to help more

oh mate .........looked at your link it was archived in 2015 it not gonna work now blender has had lots of updates the developer had given up

sorry to give u bad news but dont waste ur life on this unless you wanna mess with the python

This is true of a lot of stuff. Tried correcting some old add ons myself once that I thought would be good. Ended up giving up as the head aches were far worse than trying to write from scratch.
