Subject: DAZ Studio Not Responding

Hello,

Whenever I load a actor or add to I get "Not Responding" message. Even when I load a scene I get this same message. Is this a setting problem or a computer? I have a Windows 10 system. Processor is 3.5 Ghz FX-Series Eight Core FX-8320 AMD, Ram 16 GB SDRAM DDR3, Memory Speed 1600MHz, Hard Drive 2048 GB SATA III, Graphic Coprocessor Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 and the graphic card Ram size is 2048 for the computer side. Any help on this would be great.

Cheers,

Pat

Hi 45Cool (Pat) I have a very similar setup to you and I know what you are talking about. I have found that Mesh Smoothing can slow down drawing if there are several items and they are using lots of iterations of smoothing.

Also check your Draw Settings. It is under Window --> Pane(Tabs) if you are like me and forget where you saw it. There are options to modify each of the draw modes . For starters, try the optimized option where ever it is available and Delay for the Subdivision Updates as they can have quite the effect in some cases.

Do you load the scene with Iray as the drawing option for the viewport? I would suggest setting that to Texture Shaded if that is the case. Also what mode is your Aux Viewport set to draw in? I leave mine at Wire Bounding Box unless I am using it.

Those worked for me. Hope it at least gives you someplace to start looking. I have talked to others with different computer set ups and most can relate to this situation. Hopefully they will have some further comments.
