Subject: Poser 11's UI is too small

randym77 ( ) posted Sun, 11 June 2017 at 5:01 PM · edited Thu, 18 April 2024 at 1:10 PM

Is there any way I can increase the size of the menus in Poser 11?

I just installed Poser on a new computer with a 5000 pixel display, and holy heck, is it small. The screen where you put in your serial was about the size of a postage stamp.

I seem to recall that in the past, I used Dan Antonielli's tip for increasing the UI size in Poser. (He originally posted it for Photoshop, but it works for a lot of other software, too.) It doesn't seem to work in Poser 11, though. The pull down text menus are fine, but the palettes are tiny and unusable.

Is there a way to fix this?

What is the size setting of your monitor display?

I have it set to 300%. It works pretty well with my other software, but not Poser 11.

Edit General Prefences in the Interface tab now has a new option: Interface Scale Factor. I have it set at 2.0 which is fine for me

Thank you! It works beautifully. I have mine set at 3.0, and it looks like the Poser of old.

(But now that I can actually read the splash screen, I see I misspelled my own name when I registered the software.)

This is great to know. Nice large dials and readable numbers. Now If Apple would fix their interface I would be happy. Even Changing the scale factor in Posern has no effect on the scroll bars which apple has made so darn microscopic.fgfg.jpg

Woo Hoo ... this has been a blessing for me as well.

Of course, the only problem is you can't get to general preferences until you have entered your serial number! I had this problem installing Poser on my laptop with a 4K screen. Had to change screen resolution temporarily to be able to get as far as entering serial number.

A have an other menu-size problem. Yesterday it worked properly, but today the clicked image in the library doesn't appear in larger, it remains invisible small icon! posermenu.JPG

I tried manything, no more idea.

Did you try adjusting the Selected Thumbnail Size?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

I just upgraded to a 4K 32 inch monitor.  Glad this thread was still here.  Everything's good to go now!

These issues are why I started using the External Library when it became available with Poser 11.  Being able to view my Poser Library in my browser, allows me to use my entire monitor, which present the icons at a size easily seen.

"...which present the icons at a size easily seen."

That, too. Besides the internal library's contents putting last item added at the very bottom, hung off a cascade of exasperating, whisker-narrow scroll-bars...

Yes, yes, they widen when you get cursor on to them, but you still have to hit that too-few-pixel whisker...

( Three wide-screen 1600*900 and one trad 1280*1024 displays for this PC, plus a 14" VGA (!!) for watching % progress of network-render 'Box'... )
