Hello,

For those with a limited budget, Pixologic just released a very affordable version Between Zbrush and Sculptris. It is not of course as powerfull as Zbrush, but will allow to work with Zbrush for a reasonnable cost...

You can go to: zbrushcore.com to check if the feature are enough for you

Best regards,

I checked that out as well. As a Poser user, it's been a long time coming for those who would like an affordable program to sculpt. A real long time coming.

Hello jartz,

Thank you for your feedback!

I'm working with Zbrush for DAZ/Poser content creation and it is really awesome. Of course, it is not as powerfull as the full Zbrush (no GoZ or Zmodeler for example) but with a little of practice to adapt the workflow, it could become the "best friend" for those who wants to get the power of Zbrush for morphing and painting.

Best regards,

I've always lusted for ZBrush but was too expensive, so I opted for 3DCoat which I use. How does it compare to 3DCoat?

Hello kenmo,

Well, 3Dcoat and Zbrush are 2 different software... They look similar, but so different!!

I get both of them; Different use for different purpose. Both are amazing!!!

For example, I feel more comfortable with Zbrush for morphing or texturing (and with GoZ for daz/poser content creation) and more comfortable with 3Dcoat with its UV tools, retopo and PBR. They are both so powerful!!

Concerning "money", Zbrush is a "one shot" expense (all the update are free) while you have to pay for 3D coat major update...and both worth the money you spend..and more....You never end discovering what you can do with them, so many feature, so many ways to use them... and both get an outstanding support...

Both are really awesome and cannot be compared. It is just what you want to achieve with them that make the difference.

Sorry not be able to help more,

Best regards,

Will there be an upgrade possibility from this version to full version? Or will it just be pay full price on top of this?

Hello Cybermonk,

I did not saw any plan to upgrade from core to full. Product is new, maybe on the future.

Best regards,

There was mention that there would possibly be a upgrade from core to a full Zbrush but this has not been put in place that I know of as yet. I got core and find it a bit easier to use since it does not have all the bell and whistles you can focus on learning the interface and some of the tool but was sort of surprised that it does not include any UV mapping features and pixel painting is also limited but as a way to gradually learn and become familiar with Zbrush it is not a bad investment.

Hello Lobo3433,

Thank you for your feedback on "core"!

Effectively, UV mapping, retopology and advanced texturing is not part of "Core". All the brush customization is also missing...

As they mentioned in their advert, it is something like an "advanced" Sculptris.

Thank you again for your feedback

Best regards,

I am finding it a bit easier to navigate and learn the interface is not overly cluttered and does seem like a good way to get familiar with the Zbrush interface and many of the base tools before making the investment into Zbrush and there have already been some decent tutorials on youtube from Zbrush itself and by Michael Pavlovich who has already put together 46 beginners tutorials on Youtube for Zbrush Core https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkzopwqcFevbD6QZnhzROSyiaFUCZxPz3 I have gotten thru about 10 of them so far

When it comes to upgrading to the full version you can do that at any time once the 4R8 has been released. More info here. https://support.pixologic.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/115/52/upgrading-to-zbrush

I fully realize 3DCoat and ZBrushcore are different software

What I am asking is there anything that ZBCore does that can not be done in 3DCoat?

Forget the full version of ZB, it's simply too expensive for me...

Cheers

Ken

One point not yet mentioned is that ZBrush Core comes bundled with the Wacom Intuos 3D graphics tablet (approx. $200 us). This is a GREAT deal for those that don't already have a table. As a user of ZBrush I can't really conceive of using ZBrush WITHOUT a tablet, the mouse just doesn't have the fine control. Yes for those not used to it there is a learning curve but I found it to be very short, even after swearing I'd never be able to use a tablet.

Hello kenmo,

As I mentioned before, Core is closer to Sculptris. 3D Coat is more powerful than Core, so, except an ease of work due to Zbrush technology, you should be able to achieve everything with 3D Coat without adding ZbrushCore to your tool panel.

Hope it replies,

Best regards,
