Hi there!

I'm back after more time and more aspect of my life change in this time so... one is my activity and my pipeline in fact I try to pass totally inside Houdini from 3DSMax because I want open more my knowledge on FX world and the most pipeline based on Maya+Houdini, it's more difficult find a pipeline based totally on 3dsmax (not impossible, but hard)... so I started to study Houdini and I find more well, then I start to create some video tutorial and today I want share with you my 4 video I recorder for my personal project call "VFX'n'GO Pills".

What is it VFX'n'GO Pills? VFX'n'GO (VisualFX and Go) is the name of my online school/brand based in Italy and essential I do only italian course, but I create some a little video in English so... I create a "Pills"....VFX'n'GO Pills is a series of video with a different formula (free or "Pay What You Want Pricing" or very low-price)...

Video SideFX Houdini 2001 In this video I talk about SideFX Houdini in particular I do a little overview, describe the interface and "how to migrate" from another application (like 3DSMax, Maya, Cinema 4D for e.g.) inside it.

Good luck with your work in Houdini, Matteo. I hear the FX industry can really use some talented Particle artists and compositors. I have been experimenting lately with Pflow, which I feel is still very powerful (Allan McKay has proved that years ago), and has become stronger lately. However, the VFX industry does tend to gravitate to Houdini when it comes to this. I think Max is used in some studios for particle FX (Pflow and Thinking Particles), but not nearly as often as Houdini. I'm a modeler, so I prefer to stay with 3dsmax for that effort. Again, I wish you much success and luck in your journey.

Hi LuxXeon!

yes, you're right and the core reason I try to moved to Houdini/Maya is the principal pipeline of VFX house... I send a lot of mail and cv in this last 2 years and in most (all) reply people ask me "do you use Maya or Houdini for FX? our pipeline is only Maya or Houdini".

I know and talked with Allan McKay face to face and one big point of our discussion is this... software? what kind of software? and yes... you can use 3dsmax (with Pflow, TP, FumeFx and Krakatoa is fantastic for FX) or you can use Maya or Houdini important is the "user" not the "tools".

I love 3DS Max, I'm growing with it, but now it's the time to open and expand my mind also to another kind of software :) but 3ds max is better for modelling and if I need to modelling something I use it ;)
