oops.. to clarfiy....i am not saying the joints disappeared, in saying the body parts are no longer joined..... if i move a body part the mesh tears away from adjoining body part mesh

the problem looks exactly like the body part properties are NOT set to " bend" ...... but they are.

they are set to " bend" in the saved figure....and she reloads into new scene with the body parts set to " bend"

I don't know man I don't get it something has changed since the last time I went and updated myself to a newer poser version

its not a SKINNING issue.... I tried all of those options....its like the joints forgot their relationships to each other or something

The bones and the groups have to have identical names. Each bone has a Name and an Internal Name. It is the Internal Name that has to match the name of the corresponding group exactly. The Name field is what shows in the body parts list of the hierarchy.

Make sure you have the latest SR for 2014 as well. I do all of my rigging in 2014 game dev and don't have this problem.

Rigging hasn't changed much since Poser's earliest days, it's just had some things added to it.

yes, roger on the names....I always make the internal name match the group name, and I happen to use the Poser traditional labels (" rForeArm" ... etc.....)

again, she is FINE in the Poser scene that she is created in.... its when I load her from the library that she breaks apart

I think its an issue with saving the .cr2

Open the .cr2 in a text editor.

In each instance of actor group names check to see if the internal group names have been appended by a numeric entry such as rShldr:1, if so search and replace the entry :1 with a blank space. These number additions will not show in the parameters/properties palette or the group editor. Not quite sure if this will make a difference but it's a good practice to delete these numbers for tidyness' sake.

While in the .cr2 search the term 'weld', this will take you to the bottom of the .cr2 just before the material definitions to the weld statements section of your figure. Check to see if your weld statement hierarchy is intact. If not, there may be a way to fix this... I'd need to do a little reading on the subject.

These are just a couple of ideas that popped into my head. I've never had such a weld problem with any figure I've created so I've never set out to solve such...

Was the grouping done in Poser or in a 3D app?

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

AH all of you really had it right I should have listened more carefully to Ambient Shade.... and then rocket hit the nail on the head. I had duplicate groups b/c roadkill spit out groups out after UV mapping. so the good groups that I created in poser with the correct names were all good, but somehow the roadkill groups were causing a conflict. I simply deleted the roadkill groups with group editor, then added her rig. all is good now thanks everybody GOOD.png
