Hi, Keppel. As Coordinator, I made the choice to announce this here, as a way to show solidarity to the fortunate member who won this honor. While it may not be related directly to the subject of 3d modeling, we are all active members of this website, and I felt it's not a bad idea to cross post this announcement here, and bring as much support to the MOM as we can. I also took into consideration the fact that it isn't a topic that has to do with an off-site event, it isn't an advertisement for financial or personal gain, and it isn't in violation of any TOS rules. As Coordinator, of course, I am asked (not forced) by administration to make certain decisions regarding announcements in the forum I oversee; if they feel it may be of interest to a lot of people who visit the site. There are a great number of folks who only visit certain forums, and obviously announcements pertaining to certain events or general operations of the website can go overlooked by members. So it's up to the Coordinators and Moderators to decide if the members of their particular forum would appreciate hearing or reading about these things directly.
