From Poser Thread which I am most disappointed that I am only just hearing about this now but if encase you have not heard seems Poser will integrating Cycles Rendering into Poser  you can view the whole thread here I think this could open many doors and bring two applications closer together in a smoother work flow

As I said on other threads - there's a similar one on DNA - Poser developers would do well to have a good look at what is currently under development (and, of course, already implemented) in Blender, including instancing using particles (creating fields of grass with just a few actual mesh bits), ocean sim, trees... you name it, Blender has it. I'm currently having a play with Rigify: what an amazing tool there! And what about Fluid Designer (for building a whole house) and the retopology tools by Jonathan Williamson, the sewing-clothing script? nothing short of mind-boggling. Blender is growing leaps and bounds... material management (forever a weak link) is being addressed.

Sure, Blender still has some things missing, but I'm confident they'll happen.

With jumping around with a few new duties in the forums I had missed this one but glad I found it. and you are right Robyn that so much is happening in Blender and with it's development that it is short of mind boggling. I do hope that the Poser developers do have a look at what is currently being developed and that Blender is taken more serious as competitor to the big name apps. Hobbyist are still a market share that should be taken into account when new features are being implemented. if it wasn't for Blender the fun I am having learning how to model and more would be a hobby I would have had to hang it up due to the pricing of of other modeling software.
