I don't have Zbrush yet, but a friend of mine does and I will have access to it while I'm housesitting.  This will give me an chance to evaluate for my needs and see if it will be worthwhile for me to spend the money.  I have been collecting tutorials to try out, but I am looking for one that will allow me to do the following:

Take a model in DS Pro 4.6, for the sake of this question I'll use the GENESIS model, and using GoZ send it to ZB 4.5.  I already have a texture that I want to use for GENESIS but I want to create a morph and make some modifications to the texture to match.  I then want to send it back to DS with the newly modified texture.  I haven't found a tutorial that shows me how to do this.  I have found several that have alluded to being able to do this, but nothing specific.  If somebody can point me to a tutorial or even a place to start, I will be extremely grateful.

On a side note, any model can be used in the tutorial, even a simple primative.

Thank you in advance!

The GoZ bridge can be used for creating morphs, but for textures you will do better to export an OBJ - ideally having used the Polygon Group Editor to combine all of the surface zones thats tart with the same number into one - and then have ZBrush import material zones as groups so that you can seelct each zone separately to apply an exsting map and then to convert the modifications from polypainting into maps for export (remember that ZBrush doesn't paint on maps, it changes the colour of individual polygons).

To combine groups in DS you need to have Genesis selected, open the Tool Settings pane, and switch to the Polygon Group Editor. In the Tool Settings pane click the + next to every Surface that starts with 1_. Now right-click on one of the Surfaces and from the menu select Assign Selected Faces to Group. Click the - next to the group to deseelct all faces, and then go through the same steps for the other sets of surfaces. Set the Mesh Resolution to base in the Paarmeters pane. Export as OBJ.

In ZBrush go to Preferences>Importexport>Import and select Import Mat as Groups.

Now import your OBJ as a new Tool, and you should be ready to apply a texture painting tutorial to it.

Yup what I would have suggested to...Morphs are easy...reimport back thru MLP and save your texture and new UVmap if needed...

I also have used uvmapper Free version and redid the uvmap to have only 3 texture zones for several morphs that I turned Genesis into Lycan and a Tree and of course demon...Working on a Dragon right now...Very tuff...

But making three zones makes it easier for Zbrush and of course getting back into DS...I still havent gotten Goz to work with 4.6DS and 4.5ZB...just havent taken the time to look at the paths...easier obj form...

Thanks for all the help.  I've been offline for a couple of days because of a bad ISP, but I'm back now and can't wait to try this out.
