Hey all.

So I'm creating a custom artist mannequin using the original 'James' figure which involves replacing every body part with a simple prop. This works great and exactly as intended except for one problem.... if I interact with the library in any way (not even using that figure) then the "hip" area of this figure reverts back to the default hip. I thought I could get by with simply not adding it to my library but, as I say, it happens even if I use a different figure in a different file that doesn't even include that figure so I can't avoid it.

Any idea why it's happening? I've changed the name of the body part (though the internal name is not editable) and can't think of any other solutions.

I'm using Poser Pro 11.

OK, I've just figured out a fairly simple and obvious solution.... add the object I want to replace the hip with over the hip, set the hip as the object's parent but make it so the actual hip is not visible. That way the object is not actually the hip but appears in the same position.

Any "actual" solutions still welcome but this will get me by!

Yup. You've found the best trick. 'Replace with prop' never did work well. I remember trying it a few times and giving up. Smartprops work nicely, and save with the figure nicely.
