From Character Creator Pipeline version 3.0, users are allowed to export characters from Daz Studio, and bring them into CC via Transformer function.

  • Compatible Characters: Genesis 1,2,3,8, Michael 4, Victoria 4, HiveWire Dawn characters

  • Conversion Process:
  1. Basic Conversion: This method adopts the Diffuse and Opacity (eyelashes only) textures from FBX file; it is fast and you can see the basic look of the materials.
  • Create a character in DAZ 3D, including the morphing and clothing.
  • Drag and drop a DUF file, G8FemaleT_pose.duf, onto the character to set it to T pose. Daz_to_CC_02.jpg

(You can find the file in the path below after you have installed Character Creator 3 into the default path. C:UsersPublicDocumentsReallusionTemplateCharacter Creator 3 TemplateDazResourceT_Pose)

  • The character will act T-pose and be ready to be exported.
  • Export FBX with the settings as shown in the illustration. FBX 2012 -- Binary is a must. Keep in mind that you DO NOT activate the Embed Textures and Collect Textures to Folder boxes.

  • Save the character as an FBX file.
  • Find the Online Manual for more information
  1. Advanced Conversion: This methods adopts the Diffuse, Opacity, Bump or Normal, AO, Displacement, Specular, Metallic, Roughness maps (or Roughness map converted from Specular map) by auto-detection; however, it takes a longer time for detailed look and occasionally with some texture mistakes if the texture names do not follow the naming regulations.

Just a quick question- I see it is possible to export figures and clothing into iClone, however, let's say I want to fit a G8 garment on my G1 figure using CC3, could I then export this new garment back to DS as a new G1 asset for DS? Basically, can the export go back to DS once it has been transformed to work with CC3?

Hi braincells,

The topology of Daz character has been transformed into CC character's, so there is no way to get the character back to Daz Studio with Daz original format.

We were asked for the process of importing characters from Daz. Let me reply to this post to increase its visibility.

Okay, let me respond to this to make it more obvious to other readers.

At first sight, high refresh rate displays could seem like a wonderful addition to your gaming setup, but once you experience them, you might find that you can never go back. As your screen refreshes the image more quickly, games will start to feel more responsive and fluid.

The FBX export options screen that you show in the initial post doesn't appear to be the same as that shown in DAZ Studio 4.21.0.5. I am using the settings shown below and Character Creator 4 is telling me there is no suitable profile found.  I am trying to import a Genesis 8 character.

The options in many cases are named differently than in your initial screen cap.  0ueu4yJlT7Y7Qlv7zm3gvRLhlbHhXTmbfoPrb3mf.png

Is there anything that I should check or uncheck to remedy this?

OK it appears it had something to do with the shoes I was using. I deleted them and the file loaded fine.

This is the second pair of shoes that I'm having problems with ... I posted another thread in regards to the first set. Not having much success. 8-(

Because the topology of the Daz character has been converted into that of the CC character, it is not possible to bring the character back to Daz Studio in the format that was originally used by Daz.
